Made out of crushed limestone giving the sand its distinctive white color and is softer in texture as well. Compared to other types of sand, it is a bit expensive but the finished plaster feels softer which makes a difference. For the construction of playgrounds or sand pits, white wash sand is the best sand available. Basically, this sand is used for the sweeping purpose and is used as fillers between the new pavers after they are laid. This way it helps the pavers stabilize and lock them in place. This type of sand is mixed with cement for making mortar to be used in sand boxes, volleyball courts and in the sand traps used at the golf courses. Many inland beaches at the lakes are made up of white wash sand and is also used as a replacement for the sand dunes along the coast as well.
