Also known as reclaimed asphalt, the recycled asphalt contains the pavement materials with asphalt aggregates. Generally, this type of asphalts is produced when older pavements are replaced and reconstructed. After proper crushing and screening, the recycled asphalt contains high quality and well-graded aggregates coated with asphalt cement. Recycling older asphalt pavements also has its own financial and environmental benefits as well. As most of the older pavements are recycled, so a large portion of the older pavements can be used for making new pavements. Since the recovered or recycled asphalt are obtained from old pavement sources, so the quality of the material may vary at times. However, quality control ensures that the recycled asphalt is suitable for reuse.
